Dear Friends of the Cape Town Science Centre
The last day of the South African Tax Season 2016/17 is 28 February 2017
All donations to the Cape Town Science Centre are tax-deductible.
The Cape Town Science Centre operates under the auspices of the Interactive Science Foundation, a registered Non-Profit company (031-701-NPO) and registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO: 18/11/12/2663) in terms of the Section 18A of the Income Tax Act of South Africa. The Interactive Science Foundation will issue a tax certificate for any donation. You will then be able to claim a portion of this donation back with your South African tax return.
Should you wish to donate and qualify for a Section 18A certificate on your tax return for 2016/17, please email us at admin@ctsc.org.za.
It has been a wonderful year of inspiring our youth in science and technology, and only made possible with the support of generous donors. In 2016 we could accommodate 77 288 to the centre, of which 35 367 were part of curriculum related school group visits and other learner driven activities. While the CTSC charges a subsidised entry fee, learners from less advantaged communities can visit at no cost through the support of donors and special programmes. Our outreach activities also specifically target less advantaged schools in both urban and rural communities. In 2016 we supported 13 132 learners with this mobile unit.
While our focus is on supporting learners from less advantaged communities, donations made to the Cape Town Science Centre enable us to continue to inspire and educate our youth in science and technology from all communities. The Cape Town Science Centre is Cape Town’s only ‘hands-on’ science centre. Without your support this would not be possible.
