Is Homework still relevant in the 21st Century?

Kid doing homeworkHomework had been a mainstay teacher strategy since education first began. When used properly, some studies have shown that homework is an effective method for reinforcing educational learning goals. Many say that homework is counter-productive as it extends the school day and therefore does not allow the child to play, whilst others say it is not an umbrella option. These are statements as a result of many studies and opinions.

With this topic being highlighted in the local media recently, the Cape Town Science Centre invites you to take part in the discussion with key role players in the Western Cape education landscape.
