Join us at the Cape Town Science Centre during August as we celebrate the achievements of women in science – past and present – through hands-on workshops and creative STEM activities that will inspire the next generation. Children will explore the wonders of science through the stories and breakthroughs of remarkable women who changed the world.

Workshops and science demonstrations throughout the month will honour inspiring women including Fatima Jakoet, South Africaโ€™s first female Muslim pilot; Eleanor Anne Ormerod, a pioneering scientist who studied insects to help others understand their role in nature; Mae Jemison, the first Black woman in space; Desirรฉ Wilson, a South African racing driver who broke barriers in motorsport; Hannah Schmitz, the sharp-thinking Red Bull strategist behind many Formula 1 victories; Dr. Deborah Kelley, a leader in ocean exploration; and Flossie Wong-Staal, a trailblazing medical researcher whose groundbreaking work advanced our understanding of viruses.
