The Cape Town Science Centre has an exciting programme of activities and workshops that are guaranteed to make you an instant water warrior. The workshops, themed water sustainability, will explore all the intricacies surrounding water conservation. The workshops will be supplemented by a Hack the Water Crisis, Cape Town hackathon where Stop Reset Go, the Cape Town Science Centre, together with concerned organisations, business leaders, and design shapers will come together to share information, develop new technologies, ask the important questions, find, and share DIY solutions that work for us.
The future calls for fresh thinking as water scarcity is accelerating. According to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, “water can pose a serious challenge to sustainable development but managed efficiently and equitably, water can play a key enabling role in strengthening the resilience of social, economic and environmental systems in the light of rapid and unpredictable changes”. In light of the water crisis currently looming in Cape Town, the Cape Town Science Centre has dedicated the month of February to tackling the water crisis.
Join our daily workshops and demonstrations. Visitors will also be treated to our daily Science Shows, Camera Obscura tours and will also have full access to our exhibition floor which has more than 250 hands on puzzles and other exhibits of scientific intrigue.
