In celebration of Spring & World Space Week we explore Earth & Beyond. Join us to discover the wonders of space and the world around us!
OPENING HOURS:
TWO sessions per day
Session 1 – 9:30 to 12:30
Session 2 – 13:30 – 16:30

Please note tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

HIGHLIGHT ACTIVTIES
PLANETARIUM SHOW
Earth’s Wild Ride (suitable for ages 7+ ● entry fee + R10 – tickets only available on site)
Learn about solar eclipses, the ice age, volcanoes, extinction of the dinosaurs, the water cycle and food chains in this exciting show as seen from the perspective of a family living on the Moon.
FAMILY SPACE RACE (suitable for the whole family)
Throughout the 1960s two countries raced to the finish line to be the first to put a human on the moon. Bring your family and friends to scour the CTSC exhibitions for clues to complete the blueprint of your spacecraft. Listen out for the announcements during the session to take part in the family space race.
LIGHTROOM TOUR (suitable for age 5+)
Check out our new light room! You will get to explore the world in painted colour and re-discover what it really means to see colour. It has been described as truly seeing for the first time!
REGULARS ACTIVITIES
SCIENCE SHOW (suitable for the whole family)
Did you know that earth is only one of the 8 planets orbiting the sun? Join us and discover more about stars and all things space.
SCIENCE CORNER DEMONSTRATION (suitable for age 5+)
> MOON PHASES – What has been around for a million years, but is only a month old?! Join us at the science corner and discover how a new moon appears each month.
> ROCKET LAUNCHPAD – 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF! Come and see rocketry in action in this demo. Water rockets, rocket poppers, balloon rockets, tea bag rockets and more!
CAMERA OBSCURA TOUR (suitable for the whole family)
Have you ever taken a tour of the city while standing on one spot? Join us on one of our camera obscura tours for a 360 view of the surrounding area. Listen out for announcements to join the tour. Please note that this activity is weather dependent.
In order to observe and maintain all Covid-19 protocols, your visit to the CTSC will be different to your usual experience but just as much edutainment (education + fun)! Booking is essential.
