Don’t miss the upcoming session ‘Clever ways to grow your own vegetables and greens on a budget’ with John Sharpe, a horticulturalist at Stark Ayres. John will take us through a number of different ways to plant and grow edibles in your kitchen garden, sharing his wealth of knowledge with us and taking questions from the audience.

About the speaker:
John Sharpe qualified as a horticulturist in 1986 and has worked in the landscape industry for most of his career. Nine years ago, he was appointed as one of the managers at Starke Ayres Garden Centre in Liesbeek Parkway, Rosebank. He managed the Landscape Team until it was closed at the outset of COVID. Since then, he has headed up the Sales Team, honing his skills in retail. He also oversees the horticultural contingent that joins Starke Ayres each year to complete their internship. John is passionate about sustainable horticulture and food security and loves teaching these basic principles.
