Our programme features VIRTUAL VISITS to the science centre, which consists of an exploration of an exhibit, fun science demos and hands-on-workshops (we will send you a list of goodies to prepare for your live online session).
BUT WAIT! THAT’S NOT ALL… Who remembers our sold-out SCIENCE SHOWS from the marvellous Australian Dr Graham Walker? Well now is your chance to catch Dr Walker’s incredible science shows LIVE! Dr Walker, is donating his time to help the Cape Town Science Centre sustain itself while visits to the centre are paused. Thank you Dr Walker… we promise you a great Bobotie (his favourite local delicacy) when you get back to Cape Town!

Graham helps you find the fun in science with this entertaining, scientifically sound, educational and exciting show – brought to you live from his home lab (aka his spare room!) in OZ. Featuring experiments you can try at home – from vacuum cleaner marshmallow cannons to gravity-defying water – and lots you definitely should not – liquid nitrogen, explosions and much more!

Science is usually a boring plod towards an ambitious goal but, every so often, a funny thing happens on the way to the lab bench. After all, science is carried out by people, many of whom are odd, absentminded and eccentric. In this fun, illustrated talk Mike Bruton shares some of the funny and peculiar people and events in the history of science. Amazingly, along the way, we learn a bit about how science works!
