Happy New Year! 🎉

Thank you for being part of our Cape Town Science Centre community. 2026! Here’s to another year of discovery, learning, and hands-on science.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Board, Partners and Collaborators, and our dedicated CTSC team for an incredible 2025. Together, we proudly celebrated the Cape Town Science Centre’s 25th birthday in November - a milestone made possible by your continued support and shared commitment.

We also wish to thank the principals, teachers, and learners who we have engaged with through our projects, school group visits to the CTSC, and outreach trips across the Western Cape. Your enthusiasm and curiosity continue to drive our work.

To all our visitors who have travelled to the Cape Town Science Centre from near and far, thank you for choosing to explore, question, and discover with us. Your visits bring our spaces to life, and we are excited to welcome you back in 2026, with new experiences, programmes, and surprises still to come.

As a centre dedicated to making science accessible, engaging, and impactful, we remain committed to inspiring curiosity and critical thinking through interactive exhibits, programmes, and outreach. The Cape Town Science Centre's Maker Mania holiday

The Cape Town Science Centre's Maker Mania holiday programme kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 11 December 2025, and runs until 13 January 2026.

Kids will tinker, design, and experiment using everyday materials to make awesome projects - from clever inventions to fun crafts and cool creations. It’s the perfect mix of learning, play, and imagination these holidays!

The Cape Town Science Centre is honoured to be participating in the 26th SAASTEC Conference, taking place from 1 - 4 December 2025 at the Sci-Ed Science Education Centre of the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein.

CTSC team members Jamey Bester, Amicia Canterbury, Muneerah Jacobs and Jane-Claire Bester are in attendance and will be presenting at the conference.

This year’s theme, “Unlocking Nature’s Hidden Language,” sets the stage for an inspiring and insightful gathering.

Wishing all delegates a productive and informative conference.

From 09:00 - 16:30, you can enjoy a full day’s programme with FREE ENTRY and access to all exhibits, hands-on workshops, shows, tours, demos and panel discussions!

Our story began then, and the MTN Sciencentre officially opened its doors in November 2000, at Canal Walk Shopping Centre.
