Celebrating Women in Science – WEEKEND PROGRAMME

9 - 11 August

Weekend Programme

It is Women’s Day, a time to celebrate the achievements of women around the world and throughout history.

Throughout history, women have had difficulties seeking education, finding jobs and even receiving credit for their work. Even still, there are plenty of women who have overcome all of these obstacles in order to make their marks in history.

We at the Cape Town Science Centre are excited to be honouring women who have made incredible contributions to scientific discovery and pushed the boundaries of human knowledge.

We will never be able to give a complete record of women to whom we give credit for their work in science, we will be merely scraping the surface. Some names you might hear throughout the event are Rosalind Franklin, Emmy Noether, and Mary Anning.
