Africa Code WeekTo all our valued Africa Code Week participants, organisers, Ambassadors, presenters, volunteers and friends in South Africa

If you have not been following our Facebook posts, we are delighted to bring you the awesome results of Africa Code Week 2015. In the first year of this continent wide initiative, with a target of 17 countries and 20,000 people, the final tally was a grand total of 88,763 in 17 countries. The top achieving country was Morocco with 33,589 participants, followed by Ivory Coast with 20,291 participants, and in third place South Africa with 17, 176 participants. The full results can be accessed on a very interesting pictograph via this link – magic.piktochart.com/output/8622237-2015-results.

We also think that this quote for SAP’s CEO Bill McDermott, perfectly sums up the unbelievable response to this first time initiative in Africa, “Africa Code Week gives us an opportunity to marvel at what the future holds”.

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who participated in some way making Africa Code Week the great success it was in South Africa. We cannot wait for 2016 and are counting on you to join us for the ride, an opportunity to empower more children and teachers with this essential 21st Century skill.

If you have any feedback you would like to share, to plan for 2016, it would be most welcome. The following is a very short questionnaire – goo.gl/forms/mL4GqqJq36. If you wish to leave a field blank, please just add “n/a”. We look forward to hearing from you.
